1. Get a CRA business numberRegister with the Canada Revenue Agency if your business doesn't already have one. Non-resident businesses can register too - you don't need to be Canadian-based to bid.2. Decide viewer vs. standard accountA viewer account lets you browse and download solicitation documents for free. To actually submit a bid, you need a standard (seller) account.3. Start registration on SAP Business NetworkCanadaBuys uses SAP Business Network (formerly SAP Ariba) to run its solicitations. Start from the CanadaBuys registration page rather than SAP's general sign-up - millions of companies already have an SAP Business Network account, so check for an existing one first.4. Enter your company detailsLegal business name, country, and work address, entered exactly as they appear on your CRA registration.5. Set up your user loginWork email, username, password, language preference, and the email address that should receive order and opportunity notifications.6. Accept the Terms of UseRead and accept the SAP Business Network Terms of Use and Privacy Statement - required before the account activates.7. Activate your accountConfirm via the activation link sent to your registered email address.8. Complete the Government of Canada questionnairePrivacy consent, code of conduct acknowledgement, your industry / commodity selection (this is where your UNSPSC codes matter - see the UNSPSC finder), and any supplier-integrity declarations.9. Joint venture? Register once, as the leadIf you're bidding as a joint venture, the lead business registers a single account rather than each partner registering separately.10. Register for specific streams if relevantPSPC's professional-services task- and solution-based procurement runs through a separate system (the Centralized Professional Services System) - register there too if that's your market.
